Smallville squeal (with only VERY vague spoilers, so none, really)

Smallville episode "Apocalypse:"

YES!!!! THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!!!

That was a great episode. Good directing by Tom Welling, great story (aside from the Lana stuff, because I just don't care about her).

And Clark! In glasses

And Lois.

And the Clark/Lex scene. And the Clark/Lois scene.

Why can't all the episodes be like this one?

Glad for no spoilers, Ladybug! I have to wait 'til tomorrow night to watch. *pouts*

You'll love it, I know. I couldn't help my squealing, but I didn't want to do a whole spoiler-filled, under the cut thing.

Just remember to watch for Clark in glasses. It's not for very long, but damn, it's good.

This is the way Smallville done the way it should be.

I won't be seeing it until tomorrow night, but tell me this: Was Chloe at least marginally better scripted this week than last?

Because I've read some spoilers that kind of excited me and so far I've kind of been like, yeah, anytime now, guys.

Yes, she had a really great, sweet scene with Clark.

The first two-thirds of the episode are the best, but it's a really good overall ep, the best of the season and one of the best of the last couple of seasons. There were only a couple of small-ish things that jarred a little bit, but it's the happiest I've been with the show in a very, very long time.

It ROCKED!!!!

Didn't it, though? It pretty much made my month, because I finally felt like a fan of the show again. I wanted to (and did) watch it all the way through without doing anything else to distract myself from it.

VAGUE SPOILER ALERT FOR ANYONE ELSE READING THIS COMMENT:

And didn't you love that final scene with Clark and Lex, that last shot with Lex in profile and Clark in profile on the other side of the screen, in the background? Gorgeous!

I loved that scene! Heavy on the Lana angst, but such a beautifully filmed shot.

It was very beautiful. TW did a great job.

Clark in glasses sounds awesome!

I gave up on Smallville a very, very long time ago (about mid-way through the first season, when my crush on Tom Welling subsided), but it's fun to come back around to from time to time to see the little tie-ins!

I enjoyed the show up until the fifth season, at which time I started having to distract myself and change the channel and just sort of vaguely pay attention, enough to catch the gist of things. I've kept doing this because I keep waiting (stupidly) for them to do something really good and interesting with the Superman mythos. But this episode was like a flashback to a much earlier time when I still really liked the show. *g*
