A/N: I had to write this one to get past my own irritation with the current stagnation of Clark's life and the seeming reluctance to allow his character to progress and evolve. (It's a bit meta.) It's been a while since I wrote fic for this show, mainly because it's been a long time since I've really enjoyed the show at all, and now this is my second Smallville fic in less than a week. Does this mean I need help?
