The show seems to be stuck in such a rut, lately, with characterization and plot, that I think it needs a jump-start in a big way. Not that they will go THIS way, but that's why I'm here. Because I do want the boy to grow up.
Plus, it is a fun, backwards, awkward, Clark Kent-ish sort of way to start out on the road to Superman.
